  Stamp duty

If you are buying an investment property that costs less than £60,000 then you will be in luck, as you will incur no stamp duty on your property. However, if your property falls into a higher bracket then you will need to pay taxation of some sort, unless you happen to live in a less affluent area of the UK, in which case you could avoid paying stamp duty on any property sold for less that £150,000.
